Before you begin
Before creating a quote, make sure:
The organisation has already been added to the Waste Pricing Tool.
You know the postcode where the waste will be collected.
You have the organisation’s previous annual waste spend (if available).
Step 1: Open the Quotes page
From the top navigation menu, select Quotes.
Step 2: Create a New Quote
Select Add New Quote to begin creating a quote.
Step 3: Select the organisation
Enter the postcode where the bins will be collected.
Next, select the correct organisation from the dropdown list. If the organisation hasn’t been added yet, click the + icon next to the organisation field to create a new organisation.
Once you’ve selected the organisation, click Generate.
Step 4: Review the quote overview
The Quote Overview page will now open, displaying the organisation details and an empty quote ready for you to add services.
Take a moment to check that the organisation details are correct before continuing.
Note: If the organisation isn’t marked as Mandate Ready, don’t worry. You can still build the quote and add the required Direct Debit details later when generating the agreement.
Step 5: Enter the contract information
Enter the organisation’s previous annual waste contract cost. This allows the system to calculate projected savings automatically as you build the quote.
The default contract length is 36 months, although this can be changed if a different term has been agreed with the customer.
At this stage, the savings and margin values will remain at zero until services have been added to the quote.
Step 6: Add a waste service
In the Quoted Services section, click Add Service to Quote.
Step 7: Configure the waste service
Select the required details for the service, including:
Waste stream
Container size
Quantity (number of bins)
Collection frequency
Current provider (if applicable)
Once you’ve entered the service details, the Waste Pricing Tool will display all available products that match your requirements. Choose the most suitable option for the organisation, and press select.
Step 8: Review the Updated Quote
Once a product has been selected, the quote details will automatically update. You can review:
Savings (PA)
Service Cost Price (Term) & Price (PA)
Quoted Margin - Margin (Term) & Margin (PA)
Step 9: Add additional waste services (if required)
If the customer requires more than one waste stream, click Add Service to Quote again and repeat the previous steps.
For example, you may add a a dry mixed recycling or food waste collection alongside a general waste collection.
Continue until all required waste services have been added to the quote.
Step 10: Adjust pricing (if required)
Once all services have been added, you can adjust the price per lift if required.
This allows you to improve your margin or increase the customer’s projected savings before sending the quote.
Tip: Wait until you’ve added every waste service before adjusting prices. The quote totals and margins will continue to update automatically as new services are added.
Be careful not to change the services so that the margin is negative or close to 0, as we will not accept the contract if this is the case.
Step 11: Generate the quote PDF
Once you’re happy with the quote, click Generate Quote PDF. The PDF will automatically download for you to review.
Before sending it to the customer, check that:
The organisation details are correct.
All waste services have been included.
Collection frequencies are correct.
Prices, savings and margins are accurate.
If you would like sales documents to display your company branding, please refer to the article Configuring White Labelling before generating.
Next step
Once the customer has confirmed they’re happy with the quote, continue to Generating an Agreement to prepare the agreement for signature.
